Philadelphia FIGHT is now accepting applications for a Staff Physician to support the John Bell Health Center. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
Our Staff Physicians provide state-of-the-art culturally competent primary care to Philadelphia FIGHT's patients, regardless of insurance status. Physicians assure that all care is delivered in a manner that is compliant with all applicable laws and regulations, the requirements of payers, and consistent with all policies that affect Philadelphia FIGHT as an FQHC. In addition, they remain knowledgeable of applicable standards of care and treatment guidelines and will maintain continuing education credits as required by their professional licensure, to remain up to date on all such standards and guidelines.
About the Role:
- Projected Start: Summer 2026 (June-August)
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday (9:00 - 5:00 PM).

- Compensation & Benefits:
- FSLA status is exempt with an annual rate of $200-225K.

Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree or equivalent; more than 5 years related experience post training in primary care; Board certified in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or Infectious Diseases.
- Licensed as Physician (M.D.) required.
- 3+ years of related experience.
- Active DATA 2000 wavier for the prescription of buprenorphine.
- Must possess basic computer skills to perform job duties including desktop computing, electronic medical records, e-mail, time sheet management, reporting, internet research, etc. using relevant software such as HRIS and Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
- Prior experience delivering services to adult persons with HIV, Hepatitis C, PrEP, and Gender Affirming Care, histories of incarnation, homelessness, mental illness, substance dependence, and trauma preferred.
- Must possess CPR certification or be willing to be certified within 60 days of employment.
- Discretion, initiative, and ability to maintain HIPAA compliance.
- Due to a high volume of Spanish speaking patients, bilingual candidates (Spanish/English) are strongly preferred.
- Must be able to exercise good judgment and identify when to escalate issues as appropriate.
- Knowledge of de-escalation methods or willingness to be trained in these methods.
- Ability to handle stressful situations while providing exceptional customer service.
- Must be able to demonstrate judgment, patience, integrity, organization, and prioritization in a multi-task environment.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices such as OSHA, HIPAA, HRSA, CLIA and funding body regulations.
- Strong skillsets in interpersonal relationships and teamwork, attention to detail, dependability, customer service, time management, autonomy and problem solving.
- Ability to remain solution-focused and respectful in all interactions with staff, co-workers, vendors, and patients.

Responsibilities:
- Provides day-to-day clinical care consistent with FIGHT operational procedures and/or regulatory guidelines and established federal, state and local law.
- Collaborates with non-medical support staff, such as resource navigators, behavioral health consultants, social workers, and other onsite ancillary staff to ensure outstanding patient care.
- Provides comprehensive primary care at the clinic, including obtaining medical history, performing physical examinations, diagnosing medical conditions, implementing treatment plans (prescribing appropriate medications, etc.) and preventative care plans (immunizations, etc.).
- Orders and interprets laboratory results; reviews labs/records with patients and recommends treatment based on guidelines and medication management/dosing.
- Screens patients for infection with one or more opportunistic pathogens and provide preventive therapy or therapy for active disease, when appropriate.
- Screens for sexually transmitted diseases, vaginal infection, and cervical diseases; when applicable, manages HCV/HIV treatment monitoring.
- Assists in additional chronic care management clinics (i.e., diabetes management clinic).
- Completes all charting and documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) system as needed and required by contracted funding sources and billing, including assessments, progress notes, billing codes and administrative documentation.
- Reports risk events at the health center level to improve patient, staff, and organizational staff in support of FIGHT's culture of safety.
- Provides guidance to Advanced Practice Clinicians when working with complicated patients; periodically reviews charts to ensure practice guidelines are followed.
- Provides coverage for other medical providers in their absence.
- On a rotating basis, provides on-call services to FIGHT's 24-hour emergency line.
- Upholds and ensures compliance and attention to all FIGHT policies and procedures as well as the overall mission and values of the organization.
- Other duties as assigned to fulfill FIGHT's mission.
